Sharktank
HipHop meets pop, indie joins rap: Katrin, Mile, and Marco not only overcome and connect genres in interaction - as a shark tank they open "a niche on the German-speaking music market that we did not know existed" (DIFFUS); where playful feel-good beats and light-lived instrumentals meet conscious rap and melodic vocals, the Viennese trio has found its colorful, independent sound - jump in & swim along! What actually began as a solo project of Mile developed into a real band in the summer of 2020 in a few days: for his first recordings, Mile was a guest in the studio of Marco Kleebauer - who had previously played a decisive role in the productions of Bilderbuch, Oehl and his band Leyya, among others. Marco introduced Mile to Katrin, who immediately impressively demonstrates her talent not only on the instrument, but since then also with lyrics and vocals. Since then, the three band members have met regularly - the result is songs that are intuitive, almost on the spot, and with their honest, personal lyrics are always snapshots and expressions of current emotional situations. The fact that Sharktank hits the zeitgeist is also reflected in the success of the debut single "Washed Up", which stayed at number 1 in the FM4 charts for several weeks, took European radio waves by storm and has already received over 3 million Streams recorded on Spotify. Less than a year after the very first meeting, Sharktank presented their debut album Get It Done. It is precisely this spontaneity that characterizes the trio's songwriting and recording process - the motto: just make music because it's fun. And it is contagious in a good way. It is precisely this playful and intuitive approach that gives Sharktank's debut a lightness that currently looks as anachronistic as it is luxurious and a missing piece of the puzzle in the time-, money- and stress-driven everyday life of the 21st century. century seems to be. Perhaps this is the secret - something like the musical part of God, which explains everything we have been looking for so hard.
