If you're a skincare lover like me, chances are, you've probably come across the Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant – after all, it's a cult-favourite for a reason. In fact, this face exfoliator quickly became a viral sensation, with #PaulasChoiceBHA generating a staggering 58 million views on TikTok (and counting).

The best part? It's currently a whole 20% off on Amazon, thanks to the retailer's Prime Big Deal Days event, which is set to conclude tonight. When I say “run, don't walk”, I mean it. Yep: as part of it's pre-Christmas Prime shopping extravaganza, Amazon has put out an obscene amount of seriously impressive Prime Day beauty deals, and this one might just be my favourite. On that note, I've already emptied two whole bottles of this goodness, so best believe that I'll be adding it to my Amazon shopping cart, stat.

This face exfoliant has become an absolute a non-negotiable in my skincare routine ever since I first tried it just over a year ago. Unlike physical exfoliants that I've tested previously, the Paula's Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant is effective and gentle enough at the same time. That being said, as someone who has sensitive skin, I was a bit worried about potential irritation and flare-ups, however, as it turns out, my skin loves this formula (side note: I even have my husband hooked on this, and that's saying something…).

How does Paula's Choice 2% BHA work?

In case you're unfamiliar, Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA is a fast-absorbing leave-on liquid exfoliant that's meant to remove built-up dead skin cells both on the surface of your skin and deep inside your pores to help you achieve smooth and even complexion over prolonged use.

It's formulated with salicylic acid, which is a type of BHA and a commonly used ingredient found in skincare products aimed for acne-prone skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties to reduce the appearance of blackheads, redness and blemishes. This product also works for all skin types, although it's been proven to work particularly well on oily and acne-prone skin types.

Aside from BHA, the lightweight formula also features methylpropanediol, which will aid absorption to maximise the benefits of every ingredient while increasing hydration. Plus, it also has green tea extract, which is known for its antioxidant properties to soothe and protect blemish-prone skin.

I've been using it for just over a year now and noticed significant improvement about a month in. My skin tone definitely looks more even, my blackheads and redness are definitely less obvious, plus my skin doesn't flare up as much as it used to, which is a win for me.

How often should you use Paula's Choice BHA?

If you're new to BHA, start slow by applying every other day, then move on to once day in a week's time (if your skin reacts fine, of course), and then, feel free to use it twice a day after cleansing. Make sure to follow up with a moisturiser and a broad-spectrum sunscreen for face with at least SPF30 protection.
