Kids Baking Championship Renewed for School-Themed Season 12, New Episodes to Premiere i

Kids Baking Championship” is cooking up a 12th season at Food Network and this installment of the Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman-hosted competition will come with a whole new culinary curriculum for its young contestants.

The fresh batch of episodes will debut Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. and focus on challenges “inspired by the best parts of the school year.”

Per Food Network’s description for “Kids Baking Championship” Season 12, “Throughout the ten-episode competition, the young bakers must create the latest dessert trends and most popular sweets in difficult challenges with a school twist. From picture day portrait cakes to blondies that celebrate the most popular recess game, hopscotch, and to cafeteria lunch dessert imposters, they must showcase their baking knowledge by making the most delicious and visually-stunning treats imaginable.”

On the premiere episode, the 12 kid contestants will make cakes in honor of school picture day, which must have an edible photo on top along with emoji designs that showcase each baker’s hobbies.

Following weeks of competition, the two-episode Season 12 finale will air Feb. 26th and include a tie-dye doughnuts and ice cream competition, and end with the ultimate challenge of a volcano cake for the school science fair, with the added stipulation the baked good must actually be able to “erupt.” The winning baker will become head of the class and graduate with a $25,000 grand prize, a spot in Food Network Magazine and the title of Kids Baking Champion.

“Kids Baking Championship” Season 12 competitors include: Andy Coyle (Redwood City, CA; age 11), Levi Dubner (Boca Raton, FL; age 13), Anaiah Hodges (Manvel, TX; age 10), Leland Jackson (Ann Arbor, MI; age 12), Jaime Lee (Yorktown, VA; age 11), Madison Lendor (Monroe, NY; age 10), Henry Muranaka (Bountiful, UT; age 11), Tasi Savage (Kona, HI; age 12), Lila Smethurst (San Antonio, TX; age 11), Elsie Stark (Abilene, TX; age 9), Oscar Stowell (Ross, CA; age 12) and Camryn Williams (Charlotte, NC; age 11).

“School serves as a social hub, a space for learning, and a nurturing ground where children face challenges and foster growth – making it the ideal theme for the new season of Kids Baking Championship. The new challenges capture the essence of the school experience with every dessert,” Warner Bros. Discovery head of food content Betsy Ayala said.
