The inaugural season of the controversial league was streamed on the internet for fans to watch. But for its second season in 2023, LIV Golf made a deal with the CW Network, and this time around, fans have to pay to watch the new league. The Saudi-backed league’s events now air on both the network’s TV channel and the app. While the deal has certainly been beneficial for LIV, recently it proved to be disastrous!
During the final round of the Tulsa event on Sunday, a CW blunder caused the entire golf world to erupt in an uproar against LIV. Caught on the wrong side of the fans wrath once more, the new series had a lot to hear!
LIV Golf suffers a disaster
As LIV’s recent event in Tulsa was almost at its last leg, something unexpected happened as fans watched the nail-biting match from their homes. The blunder occurred when one of the crucial moments of the match was being aired, with Dustin Johnson, Branden Grace, and Cameron Smith all tied for the lead and just three holes left for their fates to be decided.
In many parts of the United States, the CW Network cut out the Tulsa event and began playing various other shows such as Family Feud and Penn & Teller “Animal Style”. The network also replaced the final round of the event with a taped magazine show from years ago. Weirdly, this disaster occurred only in a select few states; in the rest, the final moments of the round aired as is!
One of the Twitter accounts, Monday Q Info, shared a post: “According to @hen_ease CW cut off TV coverage with Dustin, Cam, and Brendan Grace all tied for the lead with 3 holes to go. Turned over to CW and Family Feud is now on. Ouch.”

The golf analyst, Dan Rapaport, also chimed in on the matter, sharing a similar update about what happened in Brooklyn. “LIV Golf off actual TV here in Brooklyn with a few holes left on Sunday. Channel 11 decided to go with S9E8 of Penn & Teller “Animal Style”. Not a joke.”

Some, on the other hand, showed no mercy to the Saudi League, as they lashed out at them for the mistake!

Taking a dig at LIV Golf, a fan called it a “dysfunctional family feud.”
One fan even added that this had happened because nobody cared for LIV Golf.
Some even lashed out at the Saudi League, labeling them a “joke.”
LIV is a joke so that’s fitting

Oh, but it is a joke. LIV, that is.

A fan was agitated that he couldn’t watch great players finish their games!
Tried watching for the first time & was kinda excited given the tie at the top, & the same garbage here in the Bay Area. What a joke of a tour with such great players where you can’t even watch them finish. They have informericals going with the CW channel it was on, so pathetic.
