Desperate mom makes frantic plea to thief to return her nine-month-old baby girl

A desperate mom has made a frantic plea to a thief to return her nine-month-old baby girl who was sitting in the back of her dad's Lexus when they stole it.

Cops are urgently searching for Harlow Darby Freeman after she was snatched in the area of Crest Avenue in Parrish, Alabama, at around 6.50pm. Her dad had briefly run into a friend's house when she was taken.

The Parrish Police Department has issued an amber alert as cops desperately call on the public for any information that may help them find the baby who they say is in 'extreme danger'.

Harlow's devastated mom Bethany Smith pleaded to the kidnapper last night on Facebook: 'I'm begging you to please bring by baby to me.'

Harlow, who is white with brown hair and blue eyes, was wearing a tie-dye onesie and light pink shorts when she was taken.

Appealing to the public with a picture of Harlow wearing a giant red bow, cops said they are on the lookout for a 2009 Lexus RX350 with Alabama tag number 3880AR8.

The vehicle has damage on the rear passenger side which appears to be taped up with clear tape, the Parrish PD said.

Harlow's aunt, Melinda Hutchison told reporters the little girl was in the vehicle with her father when he ran inside to a friend's house, local news site AL.com reports. He said he was only gone for a minute or so but the car was taken.

Harlow's mom Bethany Smith posted on her Facebook: 'If you know where my baby is or how I can get to her. I will meet you with no questions asked.

'Please just give me back my baby... I’m begging you to please bring my baby to me.'

She added in a second post: 'You can drop the baby off wherever you want just call me or message me and let me know where she is. No questions asked I swear.'

Anyone who has any information has been urged to call the Parrish Police Department at 205-686-9991 or 911.

Thousands of comments from well-wishers have flooded in underneath the police appeal - which has amassed 27,000 shares.

One user said: 'Praying praying and praying for this sweet baby girl to be back safe in her mothers arms before the night is over.

'Thank you law enforcement officers for what you do. Praying she's safe, not scared, and surrounded by angels protecting her.'

A second posted: 'God please wrap your arms around this baby and protect her. Prayers that she is found safe.'
