Vijay Antony’s daughter, Meera, was tragically discovered deceased at her Chennai residence on Tuesday at the age of 16, as per reports.
The daughter of actor and music director Vijay Antony is said to have taken her own life on Tuesday, and her lifeless body was discovered in her Chennai home, as reported. The somber news was confirmed by film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan. Meera was reported to be 16 years old.
Vijayabalan tweeted, “BREAKING: Actor and music director Vijay Antony’s daughter, Meera, has tragically passed away at her home this morning. SHOCKING! RIP Meera.” It is anticipated that Vijay Antony’s family and Meera’s school friends will undergo questioning in connection with her suspected suicide.
Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala, responding to an older tweet from Meera’s mother, also tweeted, “In March of this year, Mrs. Fatima Vijay Antony was overjoyed as her daughter, Meera Vijay Antony, was appointed the cultural secretary of her school’s student association. We all celebrated this achievement on Twitter. She meant the world to her parents. I can’t fathom the pain.”
Back in March, Fatima Vijay Antony shared a photograph of Meera in her school uniform on the platform and expressed her joy at her daughter’s school accomplishment. She wrote, “The strength behind me, the source of my solace, the cause of my stress (overflowing mischief) my dear Meera Vijay Antony, congratulations, my dear.”
Meera was a student at a private school in Chennai. According to an India Today report, she was transported to a private hospital in Chennai, where she was pronounced dead by the attending physicians. It has been reported that she was under considerable pressure and was receiving treatment for it.
Earlier this year, Vijay Antony made headlines when he revealed that he had undergone surgery for a jaw and nose injury sustained during an accident on the set of his Tamil directorial debut film, “Pichaikkaran 2,” in Malaysia.
